Homework is an important aspect of your child's education. Please make sure to check your child's agenda book every night.
*Don't forget....Homework should always be done with pride:)
Spelling: Every week the students will be given new spelling words on Thursday. They will be required to complete spelling assignments which will be due the following Wednesday. The test will also be on Wednesdays.
Reading: Your child will be required to read for the required minutes for their grade level. They can read a book, magazine, newspaper, etc. As long as they're reading. You can even partner read with them. Whatever works! Please make sure your child fills out the reading log themselves.
Math: Math will consist of a worksheet or practicing facts. A math worksheet may not be given every night. Math sheets done at home should be a reinforcement of what was learned in class. I will use my discretion when giving a worksheet. If I feel your child is not ready to independently practice a skill, I will not give them a sheet. However, practicing math facts or reviewing previously taught concepts is always a great thing to do.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. Homework should not be stressful for you or your child!
Please, no tears!
